"To create a home away from home, where children can learn, be loved and have fun"
At Greenlane childcare, we have aspirations for all our children to grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, who are secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valuable contribution to Society.

Learn

At Greenlane childcare we believe in creating an enriching environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence in themselves and their play and to have perceptions of themselves as explorers who research, enquire and experiment with the world around them.
As teachers we believe in noticing individual's children's interests and recognising these as their learning adventures, we observe and research ourselves so we can respond in a way that is meaningful to children and their learning journey.
At Greenlane childcare we believe that teachers need to be knowledgeable and passionate in what we do and why we do it, teachers will be lifelong learners and attend a range of professional development that will provide positive learning outcomes for children.
Our goals is to have a curriculum which is inspired by the principals, strands and goals of TeWhariki and is individualised to certain age groups and individual development.
As we are a mixed licensed we believe in creating specific learning opportunities for each of our child and their developmental needs while looking at the child in a holistic manner

Love

As teachers at Greenlane childcare we all strongly believe that love for all children is the most fundamental element when teaching young children.
We care for children and support their well-being whilst encouraging them to feel a sense of belonging in our own special family that is Greenlane childcare.
Relationships are central in teaching children, we believe we need to work collaboratively with children, parents and whanau in order to create a loving, open and welcoming environment.
Teachers are warm, caring and nurturing.
They show empathy to children and whanau and have the time to communicate openly and honestly about children and the centre environment.
We believe in having a high staff/child ratios so teachers can get to know children and their interests on a personal level and are able to spend individualised time with children so they can build strong reciprocal trusting relationships

Fun

At Greenlane Childcare we want children to experience and environment which is fun and exciting.
In order to do this we believe you need to plan an effective curriculum that takes on board children's interests, these interests need to be researched and teachers need to have a passion for them to create an enjoyable environment.
The environment needs to be exciting and it needs to be ever changing to keep the children to keep the children engaged and wanting to explore.
We believe that the community and wider environments can help us offer this as new exciting learning settings.
We believe in going on trips and local walks to the park to extend children's interests and allow them to grow independence and curiosity about the world around them
